Roulette Scammers Charged in Ontario
The Great Blue Heron Casino in Scugog recently found that a worker of the casino and two customers were scamming the casino at the roulette table. Illegal payouts were being made and now the three have been charged after their arrest on June 6th.Investigators used surveillance techniques to watch the three over a few days after a tip was received by the OPP Alcohol and Gaming Enforcement Investigations branch. The tip stated the dealer was at the roulette table letting player’s place bets after the wheel had been spun and then awarded the winnings to the two customers.
Police have not stated how long the scam was taking place or how much was paid out but all three men have been charged with theft over $5,000. The dealer had worked at the casino for many years and will also face a breach of trust charge.
The men’s names have not been released and all three have been released from jail on promises that they will appear in court.
